As we prepare for a new year, God’s Word of encouragement to us is found in Jeremiah 29:11; “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, sayeth the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

At the end of this week, we’ll bring in the new year of 2011 and reflect on all that God has done this year!  God has used our continued desire to reach out and share the Gospel. Through various Bible studies, church ministries, and outreaches such as Freedom Celebration and Fear Not Fest, we have seen many come to know Him. Lives have been transformed and hearts have been healed. 

We experienced an awesome water baptism this summer, and then to see many come to the prayer room to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit - what a year of victory! Our cup runneth over! I believe this next year in 2011 we need to put on our seat belts.  It’s going to be another great ride as we see many come to the Lord right before His return!

My wife and I would like to thank all of you for your faithfulness this past year in your ministries, in your giving, in your love, in your prayers for Calvary Chapel Downey, and your prayers for me and my family.  This has truly been a year of salvation, restoration, and rebuilding!

This friday night we’re looking forward to our candlelight communion service to remember all that He has done, is doing, and yet will do in the year ahead!  May the Lord give us ears to hear what His Spirit is saying!
